Each year, during National Adult Education and Family Literacy (AEFL) Week, we come together to celebrate the life-changing impact of adult education in communities across the country. This year’s observance takes place September 14–20, 2025, and we invite our community to join us in recognizing the power of learning at every age and stage of life.
Adult education programs help millions of Americans build foundational skills, earn high school equivalency credentials, learn English, and prepare for careers and college. These services open doors to employment, civic engagement, family literacy, and lifelong success—yet they remain underfunded and underrecognized.
We invite all teachers, administrators, adult learners, and friends of adult education to participate in an impactful way.
